President’s 2020 Annual Report
Wow, 2020 is almost gone. Thank goodness! I think we had a very good year for our club even though we had to hunker down because of COVID-19. We were able to have our annual holiday party and then the Chili Cook-Off hosted by Badger State Corvettes before COVID hit. Occasionally we practiced social distancing and a few of us even wore masks.
The following are the OCC events during the year:
Twisted Willow Dinner
Mud Creek Shakedown
Helped set up tent at Wayne’s on May 16th
First Wednesday night at Wayne’s May 20th
Parade for a young girl with a terminal illness
Lake Geneva driving event
Two Brew City Corvette nights at the Nines
Mequon parade before the 4th of July
Badger State Corvettes 14 car visit at Wayne’s Drive-In on a Wednesday night
Milian Estates car event for their shut-ins
Lake Michigan shore drive -out
Corvette Adventures in the Dells
Road trip to Sheboygan
Pumpkin run road trip
Adopt-A-Highway fall clean-up, our 6th year
Drive-thru event at Lasata Retirement Home with Wayne’s Drive-In
We had our election of officers for 2021 on November 11th. Pat Murray is president, Bruce Post is vice-president, Jim Nowlen is secretary, Rich Witkowski is Treasurer and Gregg Goetz, David Burkhardt and Ron Giese are directors. Sally Post has agreed to be our “Sunshine” person, sending cards and well wishes from our club when appropriate.
We’ll finish the year with a $500 donation for Thanksgiving and another $500 donation for Christmas to Family Sharing of Ozaukee County, as we’ve done for many years.
I hope and pray you all stay safe and healthy and enjoy the holidays and I look forward to seeing you all again next year.
Ron Giese, President
OCC President's 2019 Annual Report
We finished 2018 with our donation to Family Sharing of Ozaukee County and began 2019 with our annual holiday party in January at M.J. Stevens. The year was filled with many events which included a Road America dinner show, the Chili Cook-Off, 3 Adopt-A-Highway clean-ups, 6 parades, and Corvette Adventures in the Dells in June. In addition, Bruce and Sally led us on 7 driving events throughout the season. The 25th National Corvette Museum's Corvette Caravan was the highlight of the driving season.
OCC also sponsored Corvette Night every Wednesday at Wayne's Drive-In at Cedarburg 5 Corners. We celebrated our 40th anniversary this year with a pot luck dinner and bon fire at the Giese's.
A new logo was designed and adopted by our members to better reflect the image of today's Corvette. This logo will be put on new club patches, window decals, business cards, letterheads as well as member name tags for all.
We'll finish our 2019 year with donations of $500. to Ozaukee Family Sharing for Thanksgiving and an additional $500. to them for Christmas.
Please make plans to attend our annual holiday party in January at M.J. Stevens. Address any questions about this to Bruce and Sally Post. Watch your emails and be sure to sign up for this event since we'll need to know how many to plan for.
This was truly a great year for our club, celebrating great members and their great American sports cars, Chevrolet Corvettes.
Respectfully Submitted,
Ron Giese
